Caroline Jayne Dusang Simmons, a transportation underwriter in the Shreveport office of MJ Kelly, lost her battle with cancer on April 15. She spent 38 years working in the insurance business, with the last 16 at Ark-La-Tex Underwriters and then MJ Kelly. The time she took to share her knowledge with and counsel agents helped her continuously exceed her production goals. She was an integral part of the transportation team at MJ Kelly and friend to all who were fortunate enough to work with her. Her mantra was, “My daughter is perfect; my grandchildren are perfect, and God is good.” Simmons was born Dec. 23, 1967, in England and died in Manor, Texas, where her daughter, Courtney Giddens, and son-in-law, Billy Giddens reside. Simmons was an avid Dallas Cowboys and LSU football fan. She was preceded in death by her father and is survived by her mother and step father, daughter, son-in-law, two grandchildren and sisters. A celebration of her life was held May 1 in Bossier City.
