MJ Kelly, a national commercial insurance brokerage operation headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, has announced the promotion of Tracy Todaro to director of marketing for MJ Kelly. She was most recently the territory marketing manager of MJ Kelly’s Shreveport, Louisiana office. Her new duties will include the handling of all online marketing, including all social media platforms and website material. Todaro will also be responsible for the management of all territory marketing managers as well as MJ Kelly’s insurance association partnerships.
Todaro brings to the job extensive experience in the insurance industry. She has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She got her start in insurance sales and service at Hoffman-Henry in Little Rock, Arkansas and before joining MJ Kelly she was a marketing field representative based in Shreveport for a national wholesaler. Todaro will be based out of MJ Kelly’s Shreveport office.
During the Oct. 6 annual membership meeting of the Insurance Council of Texas, four new directors were elected for terms beginning in 2020: Angela Doss, Nationwide; Luke Horton, The Travelers; Gerald Ladner, State Auto, and Fred Staudelbauer, Progressive. Committee chairmanships were also named during the meeting. Ladner was named chairman of the Personal Lines Committee, and Horton was named to chair the Windpool Committee. Other committee chairmen include Keith Mitchell, Commercial Lines, president of Union Standard Insurance Group; Bill Weldon, Workers’ Compensation, senior counsel for Texas workers’ compensation for Travelers Insurance, Camille Garcia, Communications and Public Relations, ICT, and John Schramm, Audit, vice president of CNA. ICT Executive Director Albert Betts introduced two new staffers, Angie Cervantes, manager of government and legislative affairs, and Linda Vallejo, executive assistant and project manager. The meeting was conducted online.
The Division of Workers Compensation Commissioner Cassie Brown has been elected member-at-large to the International Association of Industrial Accidents Boards and Commissions board of governors, the governing body of North America’s largest association of government agencies that administer workers’ compensation. Founded in 1914, the association has members from government workers’ comp administration agencies in the United States, Canada, and other nations and territories, as well as some membership from the private sector. Headquarters for the association is in Middleton, Wisconsin.
